Over the past couple of weeks at Activehistory.ca we’ve published two new episodes of the History Slam podcast.
In episode 42 I talked with Yves Frenette about his article “Conscripting Canada’s Past: The Harper Government and the Politics of Memory” which was recently published in the Canadian Journal of History. The full post and audio can be found here.
In episode 43 I recap the 2014 Congress of the Social Sciences and Humanities and the Canadian Historical Association annual meeting. In the first part I talk with History Slam Hall of Famers Aaron Boyes and Madeleine Kloske before the conference about their expectations of Congress. I then talk with Jonathan McQuarrie during the conference and compare the CHA to the Berks. I then re-convene with Aaron and Madeleine after the conference to discuss how their experience compared to their expectations and chat about the overall purpose of conferences. The full post and audio can be found here.
